The Spatial Information group within the Geomatics Discipline undertakes original research and research-led teaching, training and consulting broadly, specialising in computational methods for geospatial information, management, analysis and interaction.
About
The Geomatics Discipline at the University of Melbourne specialises in developing and implementing advanced spatial sensing, mapping, analysis, and communication technologies. Our innovative spatial intelligence solutions unlock new functional capabilities and improve the resilience and efficiency of diverse systems, ranging from transport and urban planning to disaster management. This approach is what we term digital infrastructure engineering. We teach using a variety of open-source tools, conduct original research that contributes open-source code and data, and participate in the FOSS4G ecosystem.
