About

We are aware that geological/geoscience is a relatively new science in the country of Timor-Leste, especially in the education sector starting from basic education, secondary education, and up to higher education. G-SIG, along with programs such as courses, outreach, and research, aims to develop this science in Timor-Leste starting from the national level to rural areas. This is achieved by imparting knowledge to students about geological and geographical sciences, petroleum, and other related fields, providing them with training, conducting research, and engaging in practical fieldwork. G SIG is strongly committed to enhancing its resources in the field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to develop a platform for Timor Leste. We are aware that mapping activities are crucial for addressing various situations related to environmental risks, climate change, natural resources, agriculture, education, health, and Biodiversity.
