These components are tightly integrated using open standards, establishing a data‑centric architecture that removes vendor lock‑in while preserving enterprise capability and resilience. Our GIS Stack provides a practical, replicable example of how councils of any size can modernise GIS capability, reduce long‑term costs, improve service delivery and retain control of their data and systems. It challenges the assumption that enterprise GIS requires proprietary platforms and demonstrates how open-source GIS can drive innovation, resilience and value for ratepayers.
